Under 13 Saturday - Round 4 – Caulfield V East Malvern White at Caulfield Park Day 2 Caulfield v East Malvern at Home After batting out the overs last week with a score of 211 we knew East Malvern would have a tough job on there hands chasing us. Some great bowling by Adam in the 8th over took out the 1st wicket for the day. Arith bowled and Tanisha took a great catch in the 11th over to take the 2nd wicket for the day.
A family partnership saw the 3rd wicket go with a great bowl by Tanisha and a fabulous catch by Zac behind the wickets. We liked that one so much that Max’s bowling and Vedant’s wicket keeping took the 4th wicket for the day. At the break East Malvern were 4 for 76.
Cameron Matte came out and had his moment of glory bowling 3 maiden overs and wiping out 2 oponents. Some fabulous bowling by Zac sent another 2 batsman home. Some great fielding by Julian/Llewellyn saw the last batsman run out with a total score at the end of 34 overs being 9 for 102. There was also great fielding by Felix, Jesse and Jack in keeping the ball inside the boundary.
Day 1 Caulfield won the toss and elected to bat. Lllewellyn Ryan opened the batting partnered with Adam Schwarz both retiring on 25 runs. A couple of high hits saw Jack (6), Vedant and Julian caught out. Max Robinson, Zac Grundman and Tanisha Edwards all batted sensationally to retire 26, 25, & 26 runs. Cameron scored a further 8 runs before being bowled . The very nervous Jessie Toniolo had one of his best innings ever batting out to the end of the 45 overs making 14 runs before being stumped on the last ball. Unfortunately we ran out of overs for Arith (2) and Felix to get a decent bat. A great effort from all today puts us at 5 for 211. |
